This Sunday, July 16th at 1:00 p.m.
You’re invited to join us for a free screening of “A Movement of Movement,” a Pilates documentary produced by California-based Burning Torch Productions. The goal of the film is to introduce the Pilates method to the Jacksonville community.
We’ll have mimosas, coffee, and snacks.
A Movement of Movement is a documentary film about the philosophy, lifestyle, movement, and world of Pilates. Told through the eyes of elders, world-renowned Pilates instructors, and everyday people who have been transformed by the Movement. By using a combination of rare interview footage of Pilates Elders and experts, and expressionistic scenes of professionals doing Pilates, the film tells an inspirational story of the perfect remedy for a world in decay. We are living in a historical movement, a phenomenon of human experience.
The movement is about us, it’s about today, and it’s about exploring our full potential, but what does that mean? A Movement of Movement explores exactly this.
Why has Pilates had such a huge impact? Nearly everyone has heard of Pilates, but what is it? Even to many of the people who have made Pilates their life, these questions loom unanswered. A Movement of Movement tells the story of Pilates through the perspective of the people who are at the forefront of The Movement of Pilates. The film profiles different Pilates experts in order to capture the essence of the movement.
We look forward to seeing the community. Come to learn, come to get out of the heat, come in to see the studio. We love to share the message of intelligent movement with the community.
