Living in Tel Aviv, Tehila began her training with Dror-Raz Pilates School (situated in the same building as a number of internationally-famous dance companies, such as Bat-Sheva and Inbal). After completing her mat certification, she continued her studies with Tamar Tsachi, at Studio Tamar, learning the full Pilates apparatus repertoire, incorporating the Cadillac, Reformer, Wunda Chair, High Barrel, and other props.
She taught at a number of studios in Tel Aviv, as well as seeing clients in their homes; professional dancers, Triathletes, and clients who suffered from pain either through injury or chronic misuse of their body. In addition, she managed a studio, saw clients all over the city, and, eventually, opened her own home studio.
Since arriving in Jacksonville from Israel in 2010, Tehila has opened two studios, creating a reputation as an exceptional instructor, specializing in gaining clients better awareness of their bodies through Certified Pilates instruction, correct body mechanics and alignment, and improving overall physical ability and form.
In addition, Tehila was introduced to a number of horse riders, as Jacksonville has a large number of people involved in the equestrian industry. As she continued to attract more riders, she became interested in better understanding the mechanisms and technique in horse riding which led her to Elizabeth Hanson’s Equestrian Pilates Training. Since completing her studies, her work with riders has had profound results on her students’ achievements.
Over the past few years, Tehila’s quest for understanding the body has taken her around the country studying with international teachers such as Shari Berkowitz, Madeline Black, and The classical Syllabus(R) with MeJo Wiggin. Through studying with these teachers, Tehila’s passion for the Classical Pilates system has grown and has been nurtured as she adds Gratz equipment to the studio.
“Pilates means more to me than just exercises; it is a method of gaining awareness, of being more present, and finding grace in life,” says Tehila. “I am passionate about Pilates and its ability to impact an individual’s quality of life.”
